Alliance Air Wings Deeper Into Regional India

Alliance Air is widening its regional aviation network with new flight connections from Kolkata to key destinations across Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, strengthening air links between eastern and central India. The expanded network covers Kolkata–Jabalpur, Kolkata–Rewa–Bhopal and Kolkata–Patna–Bhopal connectivity. The services are being introduced under the Government of India’s UDAN regional connectivity initiative, aimed at making air travel more accessible while bringing underserved and emerging cities closer to major economic centres. Alliance Air will operate the routes using its 72-seat ATR aircraft. For passengers currently dependent on long rail journeys or inconvenient multi-stop flight connections, the services could significantly improve travel convenience and reduce journey times. The impact extends beyond passenger mobility. Better air connectivity can support tourism, trade, education, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and mining while making travel easier for government officials and professionals working across public sector enterprises. Cities such as Rewa and Jabalpur also stand to gain from stronger links with Kolkata and other major regional centres. The expansion reflects the broader objective of regional aviation policy: connecting Tier-II and emerging cities more effectively with established commercial and administrative hubs. Improved connectivity can also create opportunities for hotels, tour operators, travel agencies and businesses operating in the connected regions.
