BCCL CMD Engages in Key Policy Meet

BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agrawal participated in a high-level Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry study visit in Srinagar, engaging in discussions on critical industrial and energy sector issues with policymakers and senior officials.
During the interaction, Agrawal met Committee Chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Tiruchi Siva, along with other dignitaries and stakeholders, where wide-ranging deliberations focused on industrial growth, procurement policies, and sectoral challenges impacting India’s energy and industrial ecosystem.
A key highlight of the visit was Agrawal’s detailed presentation on BCCL’s implementation of the Public Procurement Policy, where he showcased the company’s achievements in promoting Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) while also outlining operational challenges and opportunities for improvement.
BCCL has emerged as a strong contributor in this area, significantly exceeding national procurement benchmarks and strengthening participation of small enterprises in the coal sector value chain.
The parliamentary study visit was aimed at understanding ground-level realities, regional industrial concerns, and policy implementation outcomes, helping lawmakers gather practical insights for informed decision-making.
As a key player in India’s coal and energy landscape, BCCL continues to play a vital role in indigenous coking coal production, industrial support, and national energy security, while focusing on operational efficiency, sustainability, and technology-driven growth.
