BCCL Drives Awareness on New Labour Codes

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has taken another step towards building a more informed and compliant workforce by organising a dedicated seminar on the Industrial Relations Code under the framework of India’s Four New Labour Codes. The programme was held at Kalyan Mandapam, Jagjivan Nagar, and brought together officers and employees to discuss the evolving labour law landscape.
The seminar was chaired by BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agarwal, who highlighted the importance of understanding labour reforms in today’s rapidly changing industrial environment. The initiative was conducted in line with Coal India’s broader efforts to promote awareness and readiness for the implementation of the new labour framework.
A key attraction of the event was an in-depth session by Senior Advocate Anoop Kumar Mehta of the Jharkhand High Court. He explained the legal and practical aspects of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, including provisions related to fixed-term employment, dispute resolution mechanisms, trade union recognition, and employer-employee responsibilities.
The discussions also covered the broader objectives of the Four Labour Codes, which aim to simplify labour regulations, improve ease of doing business, strengthen worker protections, and encourage digital compliance systems. Participants gained valuable insights into compliance requirements and the expected impact of these reforms on industrial operations.
BCCL management emphasized that a clear understanding of labour laws is essential for maintaining industrial harmony, improving workplace efficiency, and creating a transparent and progressive work culture. The seminar reflects the company’s continued focus on employee welfare, workplace safety, and constructive industrial relations.
As India moves toward implementing the new labour code regime, initiatives such as this seminar are expected to play a crucial role in preparing organizations and employees for a more modern, streamlined, and responsive labour ecosystem.
