BEML Bags ₹80 Crore Indian Railways Order for Utility Track Vehicles

BEML Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has secured a fresh order worth over ₹80 crore from Indian Railways for supplying specialised Utility Track Vehicles. The contract covers design, manufacturing, and delivery of these vehicles aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, maintenance capabilities, and safety standards across railway networks.
This order adds significant momentum to BEML’s growing order book, particularly in the rail and metro business segment where the company has been steadily expanding its footprint. The development reinforces BEML’s long-standing association with Indian Railways, one of its key institutional clients.
The company’s EBITDA margins are expected to remain stable, driven by its focus on operational efficiency. Capital expenditure plans remain on track with investments directed towards advanced technology and modern equipment. While intense competition and project execution delays pose risks, BEML’s strong relationship with Indian Railways is expected to mitigate these challenges.
As a Maharatna company under the Ministry of Defence, BEML Limited has a significant presence in the country's public sector ecosystem, with the Government of India holding a 53.86% stake in the company as of June 30, 2025, underlining its strategic importance in the country's infrastructure development.
