CIL CVO Pushes Vigilance-Driven Governance

In a major step towards strengthening transparency and ethical governance in the coal sector, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) organised a high-level meeting on vigilance and good governance at its Ranchi headquarters. The programme was chaired by Coal India Limited Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Brajesh Kumar Tripathi and attended by senior officials, including CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh.
The meeting highlighted the growing importance of vigilance as a driving force behind operational efficiency, accountability, and institutional credibility in Public Sector Undertakings. Addressing officers and employees, Tripathi stressed that “every employee is a vigilance officer”, underlining the shared responsibility of maintaining integrity across the organisation.
The programme reviewed CCL’s key achievements during FY 2025–26, including progress in forest land clearances, development of new mining projects, improved coal transportation systems, and financial performance. Discussions also focused on modern initiatives such as CCTV surveillance in coalfields and the role of the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in boosting transparency and real-time monitoring.
Special emphasis was placed on cyber security, reputation management, quality improvement, and clean administrative practices, with officials discussing how technology-driven monitoring systems can strengthen governance mechanisms across mining operations.
The event concluded with the administration of the “Integrity Promise”, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to ethical conduct and responsible governance.
As a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, CCL continues to organise such awareness and governance-focused programmes to encourage a culture of vigilance, efficiency, and accountability. The initiative reflects the broader vision of strengthening public sector governance while contributing positively to nation-building and sustainable industrial growth.
