NCL Opens 1,765 Apprentice Opportunities

In a significant boost for aspiring engineers, diploma holders, and ITI trainees, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company under Coal India Limited, has announced recruitment for 1,765 apprentice positions across multiple disciplines.
The recruitment drive covers ITI Trade Apprentices, Diploma Apprentices, and Graduate Apprentices, providing candidates with an opportunity to gain practical industrial experience at one of India’s leading coal-producing companies. The apprenticeship programme combines on-the-job learning with structured skill development, helping young professionals prepare for careers in the mining, engineering, and industrial sectors.
Vacancies have been announced across several technical trades and engineering streams, including electrician, fitter, mechanical, electrical, and other specialized disciplines. Candidates meeting the prescribed educational qualifications and eligibility criteria can submit their applications online through the official recruitment portal.
One of the major highlights of the recruitment process is its merit-based selection system, with no written examination expected. Selection is likely to be based on academic performance and eligibility criteria, making it an attractive opportunity for students seeking government-backed training programmes.
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend in accordance with government apprenticeship norms, generally ranging between ₹7,000 and ₹12,000, depending on the category and qualification level.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s focus on skill development, apprenticeship training, and workforce readiness under the broader vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. By creating industry-ready talent, NCL aims to strengthen the future workforce of the coal and mining sector while supporting employment generation.
With thousands of vacancies and strong career-building prospects, the recruitment drive is expected to attract significant interest from candidates across the country looking for PSU apprenticeship opportunities and practical industry exposure.
For many young graduates and technical trainees, this could serve as an important stepping stone toward long-term careers in India’s energy and mining ecosystem.
