NTPC Pushes Smart Ash Management Drive

In a major step towards strengthening sustainable industrial practices and environmental compliance, NTPC Limited inaugurated its Heads of Ash Management Meet 2026 at NTPC Bongaigaon, launching a two-day high-level platform focused on smart ash utilisation, digital innovation, and technology-led environmental management.
The event was inaugurated by Ravindra Kumar, who highlighted the growing importance of adopting modern, efficient, and sustainable ash management systems as NTPC continues expanding its operational footprint across India.
The meet has brought together senior officials, experts, and representatives from various NTPC stations and departments to deliberate on innovative ash utilisation practices, digital monitoring systems, logistics optimisation, and environmental sustainability strategies.
Officials said the programme is designed as a collaborative knowledge-sharing platform where NTPC units can exchange best practices, discuss operational challenges, and identify technology-driven solutions for better ash management and utilisation.
A major focus of the event is on integrating digital transformation with ash management systems, helping improve efficiency, transparency, compliance, and sustainable disposal practices in thermal power operations.
Ravindra Kumar, a senior NTPC leader with over two decades of experience in the power sector, emphasised the need for continuous innovation and cross-functional collaboration in addressing environmental challenges associated with large-scale power generation.
The Ash Management Meet also reflects NTPC’s broader commitment towards sustainable growth, circular resource utilisation, and environmental responsibility, as India’s largest power producer continues investing in cleaner and smarter operational practices.
As a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, NTPC has been actively working to strengthen environmental management systems across its stations, with the Bongaigaon meet expected to drive new ideas and practical solutions for future-ready ash utilisation strategies.
